Cross Rocks!

Heber cross was so fun yesterday. I didn't do very well but my bike worked great! I just need to work on my barriers. I can't believe how slow I am over them. I don't think I was this slow last year. . . but I'm still getting to know my new bike. And now that my new bike feels completely different than last week we have to get to know each other all over again. I guess I was getting used to having really crappy brakes because I found myself not pedaling way before the barriers and then coming to nearly a complete stop way before the barriers. But on the bike I felt great! Amazing what a new bottom bracket will do! So this week I'll get out and practice my barriers some more. I'm sure I'll have it by the end of the season :).

I find I do better not practicing. That way there is no anticipation of what to do, just charge the barrier as fast as you can handle and don’t jump off till the last minute before you think you are going to hit it. Every year I practice I do worse. I don’t step through like every one thinks is cool I bail of with the right crank up so its there for the remount to stand on and put power to the pedals. I know that’s not pro but I am not pro and it works for me.
thanks for yelling BTW.

Thanks for the advice Gary. You may be right. I may be overthinking the whole barrier thing instead of just doing it! I'm not doing the step through thing either. That is what I was doing when I hurt my back. Even Kathy Sherwin says she doesn't do that a lot of the time.

It is fun to cheer for teammates and friends! I should use my big mouth for good!

This isn't about your post as I don't know a thing about Cross, but your new pic is nice. Is it your original artwork?

It is my own artwork. When I can't ride my bike in the winter I draw pictures of it!
